Concise English Dictionary Examine App

Mon niveau danglais est assez faible. La transcription des définitions est agréable à lire pour le profane. Lapplication est vraiment rapide à lusage ce qui encourage à approfondir ses recherches. Très ludique, jai été agréablement surpris.

I look up a word I already know the definition of but want to check my spelling and also different uses. The result was that the word was described as an adjective. No definition no origin nothing. Terrible.

I like that I can save words to look at periodically. It’s a great tool for increasing your vocabulary. It works fast too.

My only complaint is you can't export your bookmarked words or sync them across devices.

Great app

I use this app a lot, and enjoy its speed, word filtering as I type in new words, and breadth of words covered. When I reopen the app it defaults to my last word searched, which is a good reminder/reinforcement tool. But here's my suggested fix: From that point, I should be able to press the search button and my old word goes away. The way it is now I press the search button AND THEN have to delete the last search word from the search box. Two clicks, one completely unnecessary. Can't figure why the developer doesn't just clear out the box for me and give me a fresh start - what possible (frequent) reason would I want that last word filled in that box?!

I've been using it for several years and it works perfectly for me. For very obscure words or in-depth descriptions I'll rarely have to go to the web, but it works perfectly for almost all of my needs.

For 99 cents you get a really great resource. I just downloaded it and I think it's awesome.

Love it and use it all the time. I would give it a 4.5 but not able. Only thing missing and I am not sure it fits, is the etymology of the words. You will have to go somewhere else for that. Perfect app for its purpose.

I read about this dictionary in MacWorld magazine and the author was right. It is a really useful addition to the iPhone. Comprehensive, fast and beautiful. I am very pleased

Quick and easy answers. Wish it would let me go back to the list of words after I click on one meaning. Would like an example of a sentence usage.

Excellent dictionary, feels very polished. The word coverage is very good it is unlikely you’ll come across a word that is not in the dictionary. Includes pronunciation, synonyms and antonyms. Worth buy!

I have tried a number of dictonary apps but this has been the best by far for and is well worth paying for!

This app is great for a lot of things! Only reason for a -1 star is because it can't look up a word's spelling & I wanted this for when I didn't know how to spell a word as well as what the word means.

When they say concise, it really is. Sometimes the drfinition is to simple to get the meaning full meaning of the word. The thesaurus is lacking. They do hav a "general" section for the word you are looking up but it gives an extremely vague word that has almost nothing to do with the word you looked up. There are better dictionaries out there. I recommend using "wordbook"
